Global Game Jam 2018
Global Game Jam 2018
Professor Ricardo Nakamura, responsible for Interlab’s Games research area, was one of the organizers of the sixth edition of Global Game Jam at USP, from January 26 to 28, 2018. The international event for the collective creation of games had this year more than 800 venues around the world. On the campus of São Paulo, the USP-GGJ headquarters was organized in the Free Software Competency Center (CCSL), in the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics and had more than 40 participants enrolled.
During Global Game Jam, participants gather in groups to create digital or board games about a theme revealed at the beginning of the event. The motivation of the event is to bring together gaming enthusiasts and professionals to make contacts, exchange experiences and create innovative games with the limitations of time and theme. This year the theme was the word “transmission” in all possible interpretations. It is possible to try games developed at USP-GGJ headquarters at: https://globalgamejam.org/2018/jam-sites/usp-ggj/games
